Back To Pop Featured in Vault Comics’ “In Good Company”
Every comic holds Two stories: the adventure printed on its pages and the story of the people who brought it to life. That second story is at the heart of Back to Pop, and something I got to share in the recent “In Good Company” feature from Vault Comics.
In the Q&A, Marc shares what inspired him to talk about comics, why a great cover makes him want to open a book, and three stories that shaped his perspective: Green Arrow: The Longbow Hunters, Mutant Massacre, and Batman: The Long Halloween.

Each left a different impression, from grounded storytelling to interconnected stakes and the detective work at the heart of Batman. Together, they showed him how familiar characters could evolve while keeping what made readers care about them.

But before the first page, there’s the cover. For Marc, that’s where the invitation begins:
“It’s the appetizer. A great cover gives you just enough of the story to make you hungry for what’s inside, without saying a word.”
It’s a feeling many comic fans know: spotting artwork on a rack that makes you stop, pick up a book, and discover something you hadn’t planned to read.

That same curiosity carries into the Back to Pop Podcast. Through conversations with the people behind comics, film, television, and animation, Marc explores the creative choices and personal experiences fans rarely get to hear, preserving those firsthand stories for the next generation. Thank You to Vault Comics for including us in In Good Company and giving readers a look at the passion behind Back to Pop.What comic cover first made you stop and look?
